What is Honda connect?

Honda Connect is a mobile app that offers connected services. By pairing your smartphone to your Honda vehicle, you can access multiple features such as locking and unlocking the door remotely.

How is Honda connect of use to me?

By pairing your smartphone and your Honda vehicle, you will be able to control multiple functions such as locking and unlocking your door remotely without the key Fob. 

Where can I find the Honda Connect App user Manual?

You can find the App User Manual on the side menu of Honda Connect App. Select "App Manual" via side menu. 

How do I continue to use 23M Connect after the 3-year trial period?

A web payment portal website has been created for customers if they would like to continue to use 23M Connect after the 3-year free trial period. After a user registers for 23M Connect after the 3 year free trial, they will receive an email from (no-reply@ver1.mail-honda-connect.com). Once the user clicks on the link in the email, they will be able to manage their subscription and continue to use Connect.

What emails will I be receiving from Honda for Connect:

Users will only receive emails from no-reply@ver1.mail-honda-connect.com when : 

- Registering for Connect,

- Verification security codes to login to the Connect app,

- Password resets,

- A notification when a Connect account is expiring/has expired

For security reasons, please only click on the hyperlink from the email address no-reply@ver1.mail-honda-connect.com . If users are unsure, please contact Honda Care who will be able to assist or redirect your enquiry to the appropriate person.

What else can I view on the new web payment portal website show?

Users can setup an auto payment method by using their registered credit/debit card

  • Users can select a subscription plan for one or multiple vehicles
  • Users can also manage their plans (i.e. extend, change or delete their vehicle’s current subscription plan).
  • Users can also view previous Subscription purchase plan history.

What is the difference between the current 20M Connect available on ZRV and CRV models compared to the new 23M Connect available on Civic models?

23M has been redesigned, with a modern, user-friendly interface layout.  the following additional features have been added in comparison to the current 20M Connect app.

Ability to set the climate control within 0.5-degree increments compared to only “low, medium, high”.

ability to set remote light & horn together for a duration between 3 to 30 seconds.

When your vehicle has a recall – a reminder notification will be sent straight to your Connect app for added convenience.

New subscription website gives you more control in managing your 23M subscription after the free 3-year trial period.

Upcoming features may be included in future models: Digital Key, Light Collision notification, Vehicle Health Report, Remote immobiliser, In-Car Wifi.

What do I do if I purchased a car second-hand and want to deactivate connected services?

You should contact Honda Connect Customer Care or your local Honda Store as soon as possible to check if Honda Connect services are activated on your vehicle, as location tracking, and data collection may be turned on.

Honda Connect Customer Care or your local Honda Store will provide instructions for deactivating connected services, which will involve taking the car to a Honda Store to deactivate the vehicle’s SIM.

How can I tell if my vehicle has Connected if I purchased a car second-hand?

If your car can be used with Honda Connect, please read the disclaimer which will load up every time on the vehicle display when you switch on your car.

The disclaimer will state:

"If a connected service has been activated for this vehicle, its location will be tracked, and its usage data will be collected. 

This data and the remote vehicle functions can be accessed by the vehicle owner by contacting Honda. If the vehicle owner has changed, or you wish to terminate the connected service,

please go to the Honda website and contact Honda immediately."

If you are unsure if your vehicle has connected, please contact Honda Connect Customer Care or take the car to a Honda Store who will be able to confirm.

Account

Will my subscription become cancelled if I uninstall the Honda Connect App but did not respond to the notification to confirm?

Your subscription status will be kept even if you uninstall the app from your mobile. Registration will not be automatically cancelled. You can continue to use Honda Connect by logging in again. 

What happens if I don't uninstall the app when selling the car?

Your subscription will continue until the contract period ends. When you sell the vehicle, please cancel it by visitng a Honda outlet

What is Automatic Collision Notification?

Automatic Collision Notification" (ACN) is a function where you receive a notification on the Mobile App when vehicle is involved in an accident and the airbag(s) are deployed. 

In what instances would Automatic Collision Notification operate?

 When your vehicle is involved in an accident and the airbag(s) are deployed. 

Which functions can be controlled remotely by the Honda Connect App?

There are 3 functions that can be controlled remotely by the Honda Connect App.

1: Remote engine Start & Stop

2: Remote vehicle Lock & Unlock

3: Remote Light & Horn 

Which functions can be controlled remotely by the Honda Call Centre?

There are 7 functions that can be controlled remotely by Honda Customer Care:

1. Send Location

2. Door Lock

3. Door Unlock

4. Light

5. Horn

6. Light & Horn

7. "Infotainment System Reset" 

What is "Remote Lock & Unlock"?

You can Lock & Unlock the door of your vehicle via the Honda Connect app. 

What is "Remote Light"?

You can turn on the head lights of your vehicle via "Remote Light" on the Honda Connect app. 

What is "Remote Horn"?

You can turn on the horn of your vehicle via "Remote Horn" on the Honda Connect app. 

 What is "Find my car"? 

The "Find my car" feature enables you to display your car location and how to get there. 

When can I check "Car status?"

You can see the status of the following via the "Car Status" feature.

・Door (lock / unlock), hood and trunk (open and close).  

・Battery level (normal / monitor / abnormal).  

・Light (on and off).  

・Airbag Deployment (normal / abnormal). 

What "Trip Log" can I use?

You can review details of your trip via the "Trip Log" feature in your Honda Connect app. 

What is "Driving Behaviour"?

The "Driving Behaviour" feature provides some analysis based on data obtained from the vehicle. 

What is "Remote engine start"?

The "Remote engine start" feature will start and stop the engine of the vehicle. When the engine is started it can activate the air conditioner and in this way you can set the vehicle temperature before driving. 

How do I use the "Remote engine start" function on my car?

Tap "Air Condition" at the top of the page and set the vehicle temperature.  Please refer Mobile App Manual for details. 

Safety

What is "Geofence Alert"?

You can set a specific area on the map and receive notifications when you are inside or outside the area. 

What are the situations where the "Geofence Alert" can be used?

There are a number of reasons you may wish to set a "Geofence Alert" however one example may be to specify a particular area where the vehicle can be driven and to receive notifications if the driver of the vehicle leaves the specified area. 

What does the speed alert notification mean?

The "Speed Alert" is a notification the driver receives when their driving speed exceeds the speed limit that was set. 

How do I use "Speed Alert?"

Tap "Speed Alert" in Settings via the Side menu.  Please refer Mobile App Manual for details. 

Troubleshooting

What if my phone is lost or has become inoperable or broken?

Please contact the Honda Connect Call Centre or a Honda outlet as soon as possible. The Honda Connect Call Centre or Honda outlet can suspend your account.  

My car does not start or has broken down, can Honda Connect help or am I able to talk to a Honda Centre?

You can contact "Road Side Assistance" using the "Emergency Call" feature.
